VDDM (Vehicle Dynamics Domain Master) Exchange Service
Volvo SPA / CMA platforms (model dependent) • ABS EBD ESC • Brake and stability control
The VDDM controls core chassis safety functions including ABS, EBD, ESC and Emergency Brake Assistance. It is mounted on the hydraulic unit in the engine compartment behind the battery. The unit includes a pump motor, hydraulic valves and an integrated brake pressure sensor, and it monitors inputs and outputs using an internal diagnostic system.
Exchange Service Summary
This is an exchange service, not a repair. You send your old (potentially faulty) VDDM and we supply a working replacement hardware.
After installation, the replacement unit requires calibration using official Volvo procedures. This can be done by any authorised Volvo dealer worldwide or at our garage in Tilbury.
Common Fault Symptoms
- ABS or brake warning lamp, stability / traction warnings
- ESC or traction control not available, intermittent chassis faults
- Stored DTCs for VDDM communication, internal fault, or brake pressure control
- Warnings appear after start up self test and return after clearing
⚠️ Important: Brakes are safety critical. The replacement VDDM requires calibration after installation, and removal and refit should be completed by a qualified technician with correct bleeding and post repair checks.
