BCM (Brake Control Module) – Exchange Service

Volvo ABS / STC / DSTC / ESC models • Mark 25 brake control system

The Brake Control Module (BCM) is integrated directly into the ABS hydraulic unit and controls the full brake management system — including ABS, EBD, traction control (TRACS/STC) and dynamic stability (DSTC/ESC) — communicating with the ECM, TCM and CEM via CAN bus.

Common Fault Symptoms

  • ABS warning light illuminated on the dashboard
  • STC / DSTC / ESC warning or system unavailable message
  • Yaw sensor / DSTC sensor faults stored in the module
  • ABS wheel speed sensor communication faults or dropouts
  • No communication with BCM via VIDA / OBD
  • Internal hydraulic valve or pump motor faults
  • Stability and traction control permanently disabled
  • DTCs stored relating to pressure sensors, pedal position sensor or CAN faults

Exchange Service Summary

This is an exchange service. You send us your old, faulty BCM and we supply a fully tested replacement unit coded to your vehicle using your VIN. Please include your VIN when ordering so the module can be matched to your car before dispatch.

The replacement BCM is plug and play — no additional dealer programming is required after fitting. The exchange unit is supplied under warranty.

⚠️ Important: This is not a repair service — you will receive a different unit in exchange for your faulty one. All exchange units are fully tested before dispatch and covered by warranty. Please do not send your module without contacting us first.
